SJC wins 11 speech prizes
Members of the St. Joseph's College Speech
Club performed brilliantly at the 48th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival,
bringing home 11 first prizes in the English
and Chinese sections.
The boys showed keen interest in prose
reading and solo verse speaking.
They attributed their success to their
proficiency in languages and regular training at the club.
With the help of staff, the club devoted
a lot of time to training the competitors after school, said teacher Esther
Chia Ying-hui.
Winners said the encouragement and support
of their principal, Brother Thomas F'avier, boosted their confidence and
enhanced their performance in the competition.
In recognition of their achievements,
the school will arrange for the winners to give a performance at the annual
prize-giving day.
