Our 5th Recruitment Week began on 4th October 1999, in the New Hall. The main objective of this occasion was to provide students with good opportunities for understanding the clubs in our school. Before 1996, with exception of a few clubs, club promotion was carried through class visits. For convenience and efficiency and with the cooperation between clubs, Recruitment Week was then carried simultaneously in a certain period of time every year.

In this year, over 30 clubs participated in this great function. Under the restrictions of joining only 3 clubs or societies in maximum, the competition for recruiting members was glowing white. Several impressive display broads, artistic posters, informative decorations were posted beside each stall of clubs. The room of New Hall was almost filled with students who intended to join and committee members who persuaded fellow Josephians to join. Free membership, special offers, discounts were always to attract new members.

Till the end (8th October), Recruitment Week was a success. Every clubs and societies could recruit many students and collect much membership fee for running activities. Besides, members would enjoy themselves in interesting activities in the future. Again Recruitment Week had demonstrated its popularity and had further reflected that we Josephians were no bookworms. We hope that Recruitment Week next year will be as booming as this year.
