The
Form One Orientation for Parents was held on 3rd October 1999
in the New Hall. The response was overwhelming with more than
200 participants including parents, students and teachers. The
event commenced at 10.00 a.m. and we were honoured to have
Rev. Brother Thomas, our principal, to deliver the welcoming
address. What he said - "The fact that you are here,
shows that you care." - was surely inspiring and
contagious to both teachers and parents indeed. We
had also invited the vice-principals, Mr. C. H. Leung and Mr.
C. Chan to talk about homework and tests, followed by the
Prefect of Studies Mr. P. Ip's elaboration on the language
policy. Then, we had Mr. A. Chan, the Extra-Curricular
Activities Master to introduce different clubs and
organisations to the parents. After that, the Discipline
Master Mr. L. Tsui highlighted the school rules and reminded
our students on the importance of wearing proper school
uniform and the matter of punctuality. Lastly, the school
counsellor Mrs. R. Wong and the social worker Mr. H. K. Wan
intoduced the counselling services available at school. On
the whole, the events was a great success. For it was believed
that the parents had established a better understanding of the
school's insight whereas the Form One students were more
assured to face a new school life.
