Q.
Why did you choose Econ as your 10th subject in
HKCEE?
A. I self-studied economics because personally I am not good
at Chinese, and I think Chinese requires more time for
improvement. In order
to get one more A, I decided to self-study. Last year, many of those who studied economics got Grade A.
Q.
How did you manage to get such a good result in Economics?
A. I had a private tutor. He
was good. I also got
sets of notes from classmates and some friends in other
schools.
Q.
When did you start self-studying?
A. I started self-studying in October, 1998.
Q.
What kinds of activities did you join?
A. I have joined the English Debating Team since F.2.
I am an editor of the Editorial Board, and I have posts
in various clubs.
Q.
How can they help you?
A. Debate helps me think logically and look for points needed,
which is very important in examinations.
It also gave me a chance to convince others in my point
of view. I like
to argue about things, through which I can get a better
understanding of the subject.

Q.
Please give some advice to
Josephians to prepare for HKCEE.

In addition, they should read more books to enrich
their vocabulary.
Q.
What tactics do you use
during the examination?
A. Sleep early and eat
more.
Q.
What extra-curricular
activities did you participate, and how can they help you in
your study?
A. Reading more helps me to
write faster. I
can also learn a lot of vocabularies.
Moreover, debate helps me to think faster.
Q.
How much did talent,
effort, and luck figure into your success?
A. 70% luck, 29% effort and
1% talent.
Q.
Do you think it is
necessary to have lessons at learning centres to achieve good
results?
A. Well, actually, it
depends on you. I
think students should pay attention in class, and ask the
teachers if they have any questions.
If you still cannot understand, you can attend these
classes.

Q.
What tactics do you use during exam?
A. Listening to teachers is more important than revising
ourselves. Their
experiences help us a lot.
Q.

extra curricular activities do you participate?
A. I like
singing, reading, playing sports and watching TV.
I have joined many clubs in Form 5, such as Science
Society and Young Writers' Club.
Since the workload in Form 5 was so heavy, I can't
participate.
Q
How much did talent, effort, and luck figure in your success?
A Effort plays a key role in my success.
On the other hand, luck is very important in public

A. Prepare well. Study
all the materials once before mock exam and once more during
the holidays afterwards.

Don't worry so mu8ch and don't talk about the results

Don't change studying habits too much.
If you are used to go to bed late, do it as usual.

necessary to have lessons at learning centers to achieve
better results?

Edward Liu 6A
Q. What tactics do you
use during exam?
A. Be prepared early. Work until the Easter Holiday.
Once the exam starts, stop everything and be relaxed.
Use past paper as an 'entertainment tool' during the
exam period.
Q. Do you think it is
necessary to have lessons at learning centers to achieve

A. Re-open Advance Level Computer Studies to provide more
choice for those interested in computer.

and be relaxed.
Q.
Do you think it is necessary to have lessons at
learning centers to achieve better results?
A. Quite often, some
so-called "God father of tutorial" shows off in TV,
saying that A2 is not enough, only A1 is good.
Well, actually the lessons in learning center can help
you only if you really take the lessons seriously.

school site in a bigger area (10 hectares)
